Larry Dunlap ● Piano, Composition & Arranging

Teaching Experience: For the past several years I have taught jazz piano and composing, first in homes and more recently online via Zoom. Currently I have 8 students, but I have had as many as 12. Ages 10 to 80. I am most comfortable working with high school age and older who have had some experience with lessons, either classical or jazz.

Teaching Style/Philosophy: “My style varies from student to student. I use published materials. I have the students compose and transcribe solos. I teach chords and improvising licks. I cover scales, but do not stress this much. I stress playing what sounds good to the student.”
