Andrea Claburn ● Voice

Teaching Experience: I have been on the vocal faculty for private instruction at the California Jazz Conservatory, 2015-present, and taught numerous students, freshmen to seniors. I teach group classes at the JazzSchool Community Music School (at the CJC) to students of all ages. I am an Artist in Residence at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in San Francisco (jazz vocal program), the premiere public high school for the arts in SF. I also run my own home vocal studio where I teach private lessons to students of all ages, from high-school-aged to mature/older adults. I recently completed certification in all three levels of Somatic Voicework, the LoVetri Method, with internationally recognized vocal expert Jeanie LoVetri, and I teach all styles of CCM using the principles of Somatic Voicework.

Teaching Style/Philosophy: “I believe that teaching is a collaborative process between student and educator; teachers must maintain awareness of students' individual learning styles and musical goals, and always create a positive and encouraging learning environment.”
